The Barrel Named Dodgy Trials (And What Happened to It)
Every distillery has its fair share of wild ideas. Some nail it. Some flop spectacularly. And every now and then, one turns out better than we could have ever planned.
Ours? Well, we had a drum shoved in the back corner of the distillery, scrawled in permanent marker: DODGY TRIALS. Not exactly a confidence-inspiring label.
Inside was a batch of Yuzu Brandy we threw together over a year ago — a bit of a gamble, no grand plan, just one of those “let’s see what happens” moments. Honestly, we weren’t even sure it deserved to stick around.
Fast-forward twelve months and curiosity got the better of us. We cracked it open… and wow.
The verdict? Absolutely not dodgy.
What we found was citrus-bright, layered with spice, rounded from the barrel and dangerously moreish. The kind of spirit you pour a “tester” of and then suddenly realise you’re pouring another (and another).
And because finds like this are too good to keep hidden, we’re bottling it up as a one-off release:
Limited Yuzu Brandy - Only 50 Bottles made
Once it’s gone, it's gone.
Sometimes experiments bomb. Sometimes they surprise you.
