Terms & Conditions – Make Your Own Whisky

1. Ownership & Registration
Upon purchase, the selected barrel is registered in the name of the purchaser (the "Client"). Ownership remains with the Client throughout the maturation period. Proof of ownership is recorded and registered with the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR).

2. Production & Maturation

• The whisky will be produced and filled into the Client’s barrel by Beyond Distilling at 6 Bradman Street, Busselton, WA.

• Maturation must comply with Australian legal requirements (minimum 2 years in oak).

• Beyond recommends 3–5 years of aging for optimal flavour development.

• Natural evaporation (“angel’s share”) is expected and varies between 3–5% annually. Beyond is not liable for this loss.

3. Storage & Insurance

• Barrels are stored securely at the Beyond Distilling facility.

• An annual barrel insurance fee (currently $200/year, subject to review) is required and covers accidental damage or loss.

• Clients will be notified in advance of any changes to insurance costs or storage arrangements.

4. Tastings & Access

• Clients may request to visit and sample their barrel by booking a minimum of 48 hours in advance.

• All tastings are recorded in the Client’s private whisky journal.

• Tastings must be supervised by a Beyond Distilling staff member.

5. Bottling & Packaging

• When the Client decides to bottle, Beyond Distilling will handle the process.

• Bottling fees range from $6 to $100 per bottle depending on packaging preferences.

• Custom label design is included and approved by the Client prior to production.

• Minimum bottle orders may apply.

6. Delivery & Storage After Maturation

• Once the barrel maturation and bottling process is complete, bottled whisky can be delivered directly to the Client’s home address (shipping fees apply).

• Alternatively, Beyond Distilling will store bottled whisky free of charge for up to 2 months post-bottling.

• Ongoing storage beyond this period will be charged at $10 per month for up to 2 years.

• After 2 years, the storage fee increases to $20 per month.

• Bottled whisky must be collected or delivered after the 2-year mark unless otherwise agreed in writing.

7. Resale & Commercial Use

• This program is designed for personal use only.

• Beyond Distilling does not guarantee resale value or facilitate secondary sales of any barrel or bottled whisky.

8. Variability

• Each barrel and whisky batch is unique due to seasonal and environmental factors.

• Beyond cannot guarantee flavour consistency across different barrels or years.

9. Termination or Transfer

• Should the Client wish to transfer ownership, a formal written request must be submitted to Beyond Distilling.

• Transfers will be approved at Beyond’s discretion and may incur an administration fee.

• Beyond reserves the right to terminate the program or refuse service if terms are violated or payment is not maintained.

10. Liability
Beyond Distilling will take all reasonable care in the production, storage, and handling of each Client’s barrel. However, Beyond is not responsible for:

• Natural changes in volume or flavour

• Delays caused by regulatory issues

• Losses beyond insured events

11. Agreement
By enrolling in the Barrel Program and making payment, the Client agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
